E Ala E Pua is a juvenile Hawaiian green sea turtle (honu) who was spotted resting on the fishpond wall, while our team was actively searching for another entangled honu. 

This honu had a severe entanglement (strangulation), with mono-line wrapped around the front right flipper, neck, left hind flipper, and had ingested line. Unfortunately, the left front flipper had been self-amputated, with line still wrapped around the exposed bone. 

Despite all they have been through, this sea turtle is clearly a fighter. They will remain at the Honu Hospital while our team continues treatment and monitors recovery.
